Immediate dentures are essentially the same as complete dentures and are used to replace all the teeth in the mouth on one or both arches. Immediate dentures are made before a patient’s teeth are removed and the dentures can be worn the same day of the surgery. This way, the patient will not have to go without teeth for any amount of time.
Immediate dentures are often referred to as same-day dentures because there is no time interval that the patient will have to go without teeth. These dentures have the ability to restore a person’s aesthetics and allow someone to maintain proper phonetics and chewing function while the bones in the mouth are healing.
